Baca Gitu Loh - Java - President Joko Widodo handed over Cash Direct Assistance (BLT) El Nino to a number of beneficiaries at the Genteng Post Office, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java Province, on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. The President said that the El Nino BLT was given to increase public purchasing power due to the increase Price of a number of basic needs.

"BLT El Nino is used because there is an increase in goods, rice that rises a little, this is used to close it," the President explained to the recipients.

In addition to BLT El Nino worth Rp400,000 distributed to the community, President Jokowi said that the government also distributed 10 kilograms of rice reserve food reserves starting from September 2023.

"Later in January, February, March (2024) which will continue 10 kilos," he added.

Sumiatun, one of the beneficiaries feel grateful for the assistance provided by the government to meet their basic needs. He hopes that similar assistance can be continued to increase people's purchasing power.
